COLD COMPRESSES
If you have been outside in a breeze and your eyes begin swelling/itching, when I get home and lay down in a cool room with very cool moist washrags and place them on my eyes; it really alleviates the itching.
Cold Water
To temporarily help itchy runny eyes, I wash my face thoroughly with cold water. Drinking ice water also helps sooth the throat and reduce the impulse to sneeze.
Filters work instead of therapies for me
Keeping my house as free as possible form all those airborne allergens really helps!
Get hard flooring instead of carpets.
Use ion and hepa filters
and stay indoors on a high pollen count day (if you can)
Chiropractic therapy and Acupuncture - do they work?
I have heard that having chiropractic sessions and acupuncture can help to alleviate allergic symptoms and I would like a doctors opinion of this.
If so, is this kind of therapy offered through Kaiser?
Cucumbers on the Eyes
Cucumbers really help reduce the swelling and itchiness. Plus, you get to relax and put your feet up for a while. If you're really good, you can crack your eyes and watch tv at the same time.
Honey from Local Bees
my bf is allergic to cats and it helps when he eats lots of local honey. we use it instead of sugar, and it's the best tasting honey we've ever had.
