Visitor Information

Visitors play an important role in your recovery. We encourage our patients to see family members and friends in moderate numbers and for brief periods of time. We have certain visiting hours and regulations concerning visitors, which vary depending upon the type of hospital care you are receiving.
Visiting Hours
Medical Surgical Units
11 AM - 8 PM Non-family and family members - no restriction.
Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU)
Adult patients may have one visitor at a time. Pediatric patients may have one or both parents or one other adult.
Critical Care Department
Children under 14 years may not routinely visit in this unit. If this presents a problem please speak with one of the nurses in your unit.
Any time day or night for short visits. Immediate family only.
The Critical Care Department will give you their specific policy. No flowers or personal belongings are accepted.
Maternal Child Services: The Patient's Room
Labor and delivery visitors will be restricted to husband or partner, immediate family and labor coach. There are no specific visiting hours. All visitors must check in with the nurse prior to entering the patient's room.
- Visitors during labor and in attendance at delivery will be limited to three with the approval of the patient and physician.
- Siblings may visit in Labor/Delivery and post-partum. They must be free from infection and have an attendant with them. Children must remain in their mother's room; they may not run or wander in the hallways.
- Postpartum visiting hours are from 11 AM to 8 PM daily. Husband/ partner may visit at any time unless the patient is in a semiprivate room. All visitors must be free from infections.
- Parents may visit in the Intermediate Intensive Care Newborn Nursery (IICNN) at any time, except during shift change at 7 AM, 3 PM, and 11 PM, or when an emergency is in progress. Grandparents and siblings may visit the newborn in the IICNN with a parent. Visitors are limited to two at a time and must be free from infection. All visitors to the IICNN must wash their hands.
Pediatrics
Parent/adult family members may visit at any time. Siblings may visit between the hours of 11 AM and 8 PM if accompanied by a parent or adult family member.
Other adults may visit between 11 AM - 8 PM. Peer visiting is arranged with the nursing staff.
All visitors are asked to check with nursing staff before entering patient rooms.
Getting Patient Updates by Phone
If you need to enquire about a patient eg: is it alright to visit, are they back from surgery etc, then you can call the nurses station that is co-ordindating care for that patient.

Phoning a Patient's Room
If you already know the extension number of the patient's room, then call (707) 393-xxxx, replacing the 'xxxx' with the extension number.
If you do not know the extension, then please call the hospital operator at (707) 393-4000 who can help to connect you.
Please bear in mind that some patients will be unable to accept calls if their doctor has deemed it necessary.
Gift Shop & Gifts by Phone
The hospital gift shop is open M-F, 9 AM - 4 PM. If you can't make it in person, then give them a call at (707) 393-4643 and the item of your choice will be delivered free of charge to any hospital room. (Phone ordering hours are M-F, 10 AM - 3 PM).

Visitor Parking
Visitors may use any open designated parking spaces unless they are marked for special use only.[Map]
Parking Fines
Parking rules and regulations at Kaiser Santa Rosa are actually enforced by the City of Santa Rosa, and those tickets and fines are real! And they apply to everyone: physicians, employees, members, visitors, and vendors. Please park appropriately.
- Parking in a handicapped space without a placard: $285
- Parking in a red zone: $40
