Kaiser On-the-Job: Treatment of On-the-Job Injuries
In Santa Rosa, Kaiser On-the-Job is an independent department dedicated to this medical specialty. This allows patients and their employers to benefit from the services of experts in this field when there is a need for treatment of an on-the-job injury. You are welcome to use our occupational health services whether or not you are a Kaiser member. Being treated by a Kaiser-on-the-Job physician does not preclude you from consultation or procedures by non-Kaiser specialists.
Receiving Care
It is our policy to provide care to any injured employee who comes to our department. Over the years we have found that calling ahead for an appointment works best for everyone most of the time. Patients who arrive without an appointment but with an urgent injury are seen as quickly as possible. Those without an urgent need will be triaged and given the first available appointment. Sometimes this might mean several hours of waiting, after those patients with appointments are seen.
We strongly encourage injured employees or their supervisors to call ahead of time to schedule an appointment. Appointments will be on the same day of the call except in non-urgent cases such as cumulative injury. Patients who need care after-hours can be seen in the Emergency Department.

What We Bring to the Table
We are part of a unique, integrated region-wide Kaiser-Permanente program which provides us with current knowledge, training, staff and support to meet the complex needs of Occupational Health practice and of the treatment of injured workers. We believe that the treatment of on-the-job injuries calls for a special dedication to state of the art medical care, and also requires expertise with managing Workers' Compensation cases in California. Your recovery from injury can progress rapidly and smoothly if doctor and patient are committed to working together, and are supported by trained and devoted personnel like ours. Here in Santa Rosa, the chief physician of Kaiser On-the-Job is board certified in Internal Medicine. There are seven other physicians, all physiatrists who also treat injured employees. We believe that we offer the best possible care available to injured workers. |
